Existing Customers are Worthless

Have you ever noticed that if you are a "new" customer you get sweet deals. But an old existing customer who has always paid the bill on time, one who has been a good reliable customer for years, you are worthless.

Who am I referring to? Cingular. If your cheap phone breaks, it's just tough luck. You can't upgrade until your contract is up (and that is typically another year!). Why not offer something for good paying customers? How about an upgrade option after 1 year on a 2 year contract. It's not like these crappy phones are worth that much. How about charging a small fee for a new phone and upgrade?

Instead they give the $200 to $300 phone away free to "new" customers while those of us who pay religiously get crapped on when our phone stops working. Call customer service questioning your bill and get cursed out by the Service Rep (it honestly happened a couple years ago). Ask about an upgrade and you will be told you have X months left before that option is available.

Why do I stay with Cingular.....no other choice. Alltel has no service in my area. Verizon, ha. Sprint, nope. Cingular has the MONOPOLY! Isn't that against federal regulations?

It kills me how these large companies will offer all kinds of things to "new" customers like free phones, special plans, etc. But never once want to take care of their existing customers. It's like those of us who actually pay their bills don't even matter to them. And honestly my measly $80 doesn't mean anything.

It would be nice to see these large corporations taking care of the people who take care of them.
